Business Development Manager: International events


As a Business Development Manager, you will become a key member of an expanding team using your sales and business relationship skills to further our business interests.

Please note: this is a SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT role. We will be looking for evidence that you can sell / develop relationships with customers / negotiate prices. Much of your time will be spent reaching out to potential new customers in a SALES capacity.


We offer a basic salary with significant performance-related bonuses. Additionally, we offer some flexible working hours, a lap-top and frequent travel abroad to our international conferences.


  • Find and contact potential customers by telephone and email
  • Learn new topics and specific industry sub-sectors. Research industry trends & developments
  • Present offers for delegate tickets, speaker & sponsor packages
  • Negotiate prices and terms
  • Meet customers face-to-face at events and build lasting relationships
  • Liaise with other team members and Event Support to ensure all Project administration tasks are completed


  • You must be able to speak and write a very high level of English. Native English preferred
  • A second European language would be highly desirable but not essential


No experience is required however, preference will be given to applicants who are proficient in English and can demonstrate some experience dealing with customers in a commercial environment.

Conference Producer


The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of international conferences including; research, content production, securing speakers, negotiating sales & sponsorship contracts, writing agendas and project and venue management.


  • Researching, finding and inviting (by telephone & email) senior level executives to present at our Conferences
  • Managing the event project from initial design right through to on-site management and completion
  • Designing and managing the programme, writing presentation titles and negotiating with Speakers
  • Preparing Speaker and programme information for the Sales team
  • Being ‘on stage’ at the event taking responsibility for all aspects of the conference
  • selling delegate tickets and sponsorship packages to companies by telephone


We are looking for a confident character with excellent organisation and communication skills. Finding, inviting and securing high-level Speakers is not easy and requires drive, perseverance and relationship-building skills.

Specific skills and experience required are as follows

  • Advanced/native English skills: verbal & written. Native preferred
  • A University degree
  • at least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar or commercial role involving significant contact with external customers or suppliers
  • experience in event management, recruitment, purchasing or sales would be advantageous

We offer a good basic salary with significant performance-based commissions and the opportunity to become a key figure in a growing team. Our events take place around Europe and you will have the opportunity to travel 4-6 times per year to some of the most exciting cities in the world.
